SquidMag is a website that offers a great selection of news on animation, games and comics from the continent. In their own words they aim to be....

Squid Mag was started by Kofi Sydney Asare and KaDi Yao Tay in 2015. The Squid Mag team comprises Cassandra Mark, Kevin Sampong, Kiyindou Yamakasi, Dela Attikesse, Fafa and Elom MacAuley and Elizabeth Temitayo Johnson.

We are on a mission to alter the African narrative through channels atypically associated with Africa.

Animation Training in Dakar

BBC World News - 'Embracing Animation in Africa' ran a story on a new initiative based in Dakar that uses EU funding to train 10 African artists in animation. The artists come from various countries including Senegal, Mali, Madagascar, Congo and Comor...Their work includes 2D and 3D animation and upon completion they will return back to their countries with seed funding to make their own films. CartoonBrew on Nigerian Animation....

A recent article posted on the 20th November by Amid Amidi on CartoonBrew reviews the state of animation in Nigeria making special mention of Bino and Fino and a more recent addition by SporeDust Media and their animation Chicken Core: The Rise of Kings directed by Oricha Aliyu.
